Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Sift Your CV (the "Service"), operated by CortxAI Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in the United Kingdom. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

Sift Your CV is an AI-powered CV screening platform that analyses candidate CVs against job descriptions to produce ranked, bias-free shortlists. The Service is available at siftyourcv.com.

2. Account Registration

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

3. Free Trial

Each new account receives a free trial consisting of 1 job description and 10 CV analyses. The free trial requires no credit card and is available once per account. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free trial at any time.

4. Credits and Payment

4.1 Credit System

Beyond the free trial, the Service operates on a pay-per-use credit system. Each credit costs £0.12 and allows you to process one CV against one job description. Credits are non-refundable once purchased, except as required by applicable law.

4.2 No Expiration

Purchased credits do not expire and remain in your account for as long as your account is active.

4.3 Pricing Changes

We reserve the right to change credit pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect credits already purchased. We will provide reasonable notice of any pricing changes.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
  • Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes on third-party rights
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service or its AI models
  • Use automated tools to scrape, mine, or extract data from the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse the free trial
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or its outputs without our written consent

6. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By uploading CVs and job descriptions, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and consents to process the personal data contained in those documents.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our IP

The Service, including its AI models, algorithms, design, and branding, is owned by CortxAI Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property beyond what is necessary to use the Service.

7.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of all CVs, job descriptions, and other content you upload. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

8. AI Output Disclaimer

The Service provides AI-generated rankings and analysis as a decision-support tool. While we strive for accuracy and fairness:

  • AI outputs are recommendations, not final hiring decisions — you remain responsible for all recruitment decisions
  • We do not guarantee that the AI analysis will be error-free or perfectly accurate in all cases
  • You should review AI-generated results and apply your own professional judgement

9. Compliance

The Service is designed to comply with the EU AI Act, ISO 27001, and ISO 42001 standards. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with all applicable employment and data protection laws in your jurisdiction, including the Equality Act 2010 (UK), GDPR, and UK GDPR.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CortxAI Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

  • You may close your account at any time by contacting us.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or engage in activity that could harm the Service or other users.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any unused credits are forfeited unless termination was initiated by us without cause.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
